Since we have had many talks about halfswording, I think this deserves its own post. CK just said today that he decided to change halfswording from a technique ability to just a way to use a sword. Meaning its no longer an ability at all.
Not sure how I'll describe it, but some examples would be Smite, Rage of Ao, Heroic Strike, etc. Melee maybe? Spells are another category, and there's probably more (maybe songs is its own)
Also, If I may quote a dictionary: skill or ability in a particular field. so, for example, you could make up a complicated manuver and it would be a technique in the acrobatic combat field
