Overview
In Aetheria, there are three tiers of professions, otherwise known as 'jobs' or simply 'classes'. The three tiers are known as:
- Standard
- Exalted
- Secret
Classes are a job/profession that magically enhances specific areas of the character and helps unlock abilities. Although in the past people were able to bestow classes upon another person, currently they are only obtainable through the use of a special type of crystal (or similar item) that typically only have one use. They are said to have the power of past heroes instilled within them. To use these crystals, one must first reach certain requirements before the crystal deems the character worthy. Afterwards, it typically takes days or even weeks for the class to be obtained. Currently, there are thousands of these crystals stockpiled and doled to worthy candidates, but there is no known way to produce them, only obtained through discovery and adventuring.
All professions could be placed in what was called a class “tree”:
- Fighter -- These classes, as their name suggests, fight! These classes are more powerful in groups.
- Rogue -- These classes move fast and they don't have many tanky abilities, but being able dodge attacks well compensates. DPS of these classes is, on average, the same as fighter classes, but the overall range of DPS is higher.
- Mage -- A class that uses magic against enemies.
- Priest -- Almost every priest gets some kind of healing ability. Some are primarily healers, others use it to support more offensive techniques. Priests generally provide magical support. Most, if not all, draw powerful from some external source such as an immortal.
- Craftsman -- These classes don't fight. Instead, they craft/enchant/buff items for their team members. Craftsmen/women generally provide physical assistance.
Notes:
AoE stands for 'area of effect' - an ability that can affect multiple targets, like the explosion from Fire Cube. Most AoE attacks are explosions or otherwise spread out slightly; TNT blasts and splash potions are classic examples.
CC stands for 'crowd control' - an ability that can effectively stun, immobilize, frighten or otherwise disable a group.
DoT is damage over time - an ability that can cause continuous damage after landing a hit.
A Neophyte is a term applied to someone who has not chosen a class.
Blanks mean unknown. If there are none, it'll say none.
Some of these level up bonuses, max levels, and max level bonuses may be outdated. The tier in which these classes are in may also be outdated.
