Aetherian Experience

Experience and gain wisdom about the Wiki here, from me. Check the Aetheria section to see more about Cube Kid's series. To see more on the actual wiki and its other members and aspects, see Aetheria.exe. If you didn't take the hint already, this section is about my presence on the wiki and what advice I have to offer you. The Aetheria.exe section has a staff/user directory, allowing you to see other members on this wiki and what they have to offer.

Consulate

In your deliberations, when seeking my counsel, be sure to ask on my message wall send an envoy to my bureau. Allow yourself the privilege of your own knowledge, but do not remain foreign to the wisdom of others. Remember to forage upon the knowledge that is provided, but take no haste in indulging it. Thus, though we have heard of stupid haste, do not let it steer you onto the path of procrastination, one that I myself have walked upon.

In the operations of editing, by which I often provide my counsel, one must understand that I often take ease at my pleasure but will adjust my schedule according as the circumstances are favorable. Under no circumstances should one seek to protract their wisdom, as there is no instance in which those seeking to secure their reputation as wise have succeeded with fraud. Thus may it be known that it is by means of the considerations of time and wisdom together upon which one's success is forecasted.

Know that not only am I better than you, I am also inevitable.

Questions about a page I am dictator of should be posted on said page or on my wall bureau, depending on the type of question. I have a dungeon reserved for people who add false data or defy my dictations. Check out the Profile section to see more info about my empire.

Template Commissions

Leave a message on my message wall as a commission for a template. The template must

  1. Be reusable across multiple pages (not just a custom tailored thingy for one page).
  2. Be within reason. It's best you provide development guidelines that are logical procedures.
  3. Have evidence of significance. No trolling by commissioning and ghosting me.
  4. Be one of the most optimal solutions to that problem. Templates aren't the solution to everything.
  5. Follow the guidelines of the contract system (viewable under the Notes section

The Art of Editing Illustrated

by Me

Part I: Laying Plans

The art of editing is of vital importance to the Wiki.

It is a matter of life and death, a road either to success or to ruin. Hence it is a subject of inquiry which can on no account be neglected.

The art of editing, then, is governed by five constant factors, to be taken into account in one's deliberations, when seeking to determine the conditions obtaining in the field. These are: (1) The Wiki Law; (2) Traffic; (3) Value; (4) The Founder; (5) Method and discipline.

The Wiki Law causes the people to be in complete accord with the staff, so that they will follow them regardless of their lives, undismayed by any danger. Traffic signifies shadow and light, low traffic and heavy traffic, times and seasons. Value comprises contributions, great and small; truth and lies; open pages and small articles; the chances of success and failure. The Founder stands for the virtues of wisdom, truth, benevolence, knowledge and strictness.

By method and discipline are to be understood the marshaling of the community in its proper subdivisions, the graduations of rank among the editors, the maintenance of pages by which knowledge may reach the viewers, and the control of community contributions.

These five heads should be familiar to every editor: he who knows them will be successful; he who knows them not will fail.

Therefore, in your deliberations, when seeking to determine the community conditions, let them be made the basis of a comparison, in this wise: (1) Which of the two admins is imbued with the Wiki law? (2) Which of the two admins has most ability? (3) With whom lie the advantages derived from Traffic and Value? (4) On which side is discipline most rigorously enforced? (5) Which community knows more? (6) On which side are staff and editors more highly trained? (7) In which community is there the greater constancy both in reward and punishment?

Aetheria.exe

User on the wiki. The staff section is self explanatory. Editors frequently edit wiki pages, while viewers are active on the wiki but don't frequently make edits. If you're a user on here and you feel I falsified your activity status (Active/Semi-Active/Inactive), feel free to fix it.

User Directory

There are various pages on this wiki. Here are the most prominently featured. If you want to see locations or Aetheria related stuff, links to their pages are down in the Aetheria section.

If anyone ever decides to add this to their page (or the staff decides to add this to the main page) REMEMBER ME FOR CENTURIES

No really you better not accuse me of stealing this idea from other users on this wiki because I didn't I stole the concept elsewhere suckers. (Here, actually. Check the full idea out. It's much more aesthetically pleasing.)

These are characters you see in Aetheria. They are sorted by the series they are featured in (are main characters in), not by which one they appear in first.

Characters in Aetheria

There are various locations in Aetheria. The following are interactive maps of Ardenvell, Aetheria's main Overworld continent. There is also a continent to the north which can be travelled to by water. Below the maps, there is a table listing the major locations in Aetheria.

Where you can find me

My real location remains a secret, but if you ever want to mail something bad, mail it to Olive. He's pretty hardy, so I'm sure he can handle it. Anyway, here's my online presence. You may know me; you may not.

Contact

Social media. The pinnacle of social-ness! I don't use it very often, and you'll find that even on it, I refrain from revealing personal information, regardless of whether you want it or not. I only use Discord, and nothing else. If you want to add me, my username is at the top of the page in my profile box. If you can't find it, my Discord is here anyway.

Games I play

Call of Duty: Mobile

A perspective shooter based on the Call of Duty franchise on mobile. The source of my anger, the game itself is perfect, but some things man, some things just really piss me off, and I don't blame the devs because they shouldn't have to deal with it either.

A space-themed MMO based on EVE Online. Interestingly enough, success in this game is impossible without a clan/corporation, and the game quickly becomes boring when you're alone. Again, although I despise teamwork and avoid it when I can, my minimalism understands that it is necessary sometimes.

ARK: Survival Evolved (formerly)

I no longer play ARK. It is still, to this day, one of my all time favorite games. ARK is a realistic survival game with a sci-fi background but a rude awakening in the primitive world the player starts in, with danger around every corner, but with each danger braved, the reward becomes greater. As the player struggles to survive in this strange world, unknown forces dwell, watching the player until one day, the same player stands in front of their eyes, no longer a primitive being but a master of survival.

Fiery's Twisted Tales

Twisted Tales

Olive's 12 Labors

One day, Olive went insane due to unknown external factors. When Olive had awoken from his trance, he had committed many great sins. Lost and confused, he prayed to the great InSPYration for guidance, and the great master's awesome judgement availed him. Spy told him he would have to serve EccentricEnderGuy, a noble in the Wiki, for twelve years, in punishment for the sins.

As part of his sentence, Olive had to perform twelve labors, feats so difficult that they seemed impossible. Fortunately, Olive had the help of AGhast1 and Pokemaster282495, sympathetic beings who showed up when he really needed help. By the end of these Labors, Olive was, without a doubt, the Wiki's greatest mod.

Of the many tasks Olive was charged with, one was of much interest. Olive's second labor was to kill the Hydra, a nine headed serpent. One of his trusty companions, Chinay, accompanied Olive on his quest, for the hydra was not just a nine-headed serpent: one of it's heads had a special aspect. Should the head be killed or removed, two more would grow in it's place. Together, Olive and Chinay cut off each of the great beasts heads, until they reaches the ninth.

Diving in for the finishing blow, Olive cleaved off the final head. When he regained his posture, a surprise awaited him: two more heads had sprouted! It was then he remembered that the Hydra's ninth head was recurrent. Chinay, not willing to believe such nonsense, charged forward... and was launched back, earning several bruises along the way as well as acid burns from the Hydra. Olive, with his omniscience, quickly determined that if the Hydra's heads were to suffer repeated burns from acid, they would be unable to regrow. Olive rose to challenge the Hydra, now with 3 heads. Quickly, he burned sticks using rays of intense omniscience, and threw volleys of flaming sticks at the Hydra. The Hydra's heads began burning, and new ones sprouted, to be scorched as well. As Olive and the now-recovered Chinay watched in horror, the Hydra grew and grew, its many heads doubling rapidly, until, at last, the fire stopped burning.

Olive and Chinay's amygdalas kicked in, and they ran for dear life. But they made a fatal mistake, sealing one of their fates. The Hydra rained acid upon them, and while Olive managed to escape intact, Chinay suffered a different fate: having received so many burns in the legs, Chinay was not able to keep up with Olive, and the many hundreds of heads devoured Chinay, ripping him to pieces.

Olive pleaded to EEG, and EEG ruled that because Olive had failed this task, he had to complete two more in its place. Olive, grieving his companion's death, went on to complete his labors, to be known by many as the Twelve Labors of Olive.

Divine Intervention

There was once a time that the Wiki was a lively place, and as in all cases, had more crime. Often, events ocurred in which the staff had little power over, and while some were for the benefit of Wiki, others were clearly not, often surrounded by well woven stories.

As the Wiki grew, the founder realized that in order to keep the Wiki an orderly place, he would have to entrust his great power to some underlings, who would act as his eyes when his own were closed, and be a second pair when they were not. Over time, the Pantheon of the Staff would grow, staff members rising and falling from glory.

Warped Poems

To what end does hope bring you?

It is but a desperate man's denial
the relishment of those who are assured success
a mere prediction in a world where chance dominates

Sane is the man who dives into the river of sorrow
but stupid is the fool who tries to escape
For those who swim out of the depths of the river
find themselves stranded in the sea of despair

He who climbs onto the shores of solace, too tired to continue
finds himself back in the sea, the false shore washed away

And yet, those who persevere, those who brave the tide and pass the shores
find themselves in endless plains
To their home they have returned, but the sea breeze lingers
no longer gentle, but stale and foreboding
for those who escape the waters of desperation
are but pawns in their own plan to return to the same waters
they thought they were free of

Through the eyes of another, you are little.
They see not your pain
not your suffering
and not your achievements
but rather your mistakes, your sins.

Yet, long ago, men and women alike wished for one who would see past nothing
One who would not deny your suffering
One who would see the greatness in you
One who would see you for who you truly are

Thus the legend of God, the Almighty, was born
A representation of he who could not be
he who would never be

All hope to see Him
to be acknowledged by Him, but to no avail
For none can be anything without recognition by others
And to be recognized by the ultimate, the Almighty
That is the ultimate achievement
One that none do not crave

Notes

Electrons are shown to have mass, but it could be possible that the only reason they do this is because of the exertion of the electromagnetic force upon the particles used to measure it. (This was written not knowing how electrons' masses are measured, whether through physical measuring or mathematical measuring.)

Precision is consistency of results, whilst accuracy is error margin compared to precision.

Taming is conditioning a creature's behavior so they grow accustomed to living alongside humans (thus tolerating their presence as they would a familiar or a friendly member of their species) and do not show their usual disinterest or hostility towards humans humans. Creatures who are uneasy around humans will become more comfortable around them as well, and more intelligent creatures will develop distinct behaviour patterns around humans, learning what provokes them and what does not.
Intelligent sentient tames have the capacity to form a unique type of relationship with their masters or caretakers.
To put this as an example, a romantic relationship is a relationship sustained by the participants' urge to reproduce, and a familiar relationship (just a term I'm using to represent an oikogenic relationship) is one that you form with the group of people you grow up with or cooperate with. This type of relationship brings you to have a special kind of trust in those people; as you know their behaviour and the way they act (having been through many things with them), you know what to expect of them and what they are proficient in.
The type of relationship you are forming with your tame is, in a way, a symbiotic relationship. A symbiotic relationship can eventually transition into a familiar relationship, and is one where both sides benefit. In the case of taming, your tame will probably be getting the short end of the deal, but the tame tolerates this behaviour because of its anatomy; while it may have different reasons for listening to its master than an employee who listens to his boss (seeing as most tamed creatures are less intelligent than humans), the result is the same. The once foreign master will become a familiar face, and the tame will grow more comfortable with its master, should the master allow it, which is no different from the employee whose boss grows more accustomed to (and likely also more friendly with), so as long as they wish.

  • Vines grow upward in a spiral because they are looking for something to wrap around.
  • Comradeship can also be spelt comradery, or, properly, camaraderie.

Contracts system (Universal)

>-Contracts system (concept) Beta 4.4, Standard 2.2
>>Reputation and standings
There are 4 primary types of reputations: Combat, Legal, and Intuition, which are only raised through contracts and proven actions (if I murdered someone, my legal rep wont drop if no one finds out). Each of these four types of rep affect, well your reputation. NPCs will give you contracts based on your reputations, while players can view your reps, which will affect what kind of tasks they give you as well.
>Combat reputation
Combat rep measures your overall
combat skill, and separates into 2 subtypes of rep: Hunting and Bounty (both affect your combat rep. Hunting involves contracts given under the hunting subtype (essentially PVE battles against non humanoids), while Bounty affects contracts under the bounty subtype (bounty contracts are often battles against players or other intelligent beings, often humanoids).
>Legal reputation
Legal reputation is a measure of how often you obey laws, and one of the only reps that are significantly affected by actions outside of contracts. Completing illegal contracts will slightly drop your Legal rep, but the gains often outweigh that. Failing illegal contracts or being caught doing illegal activities will result in severe penalties to legal rep and standings, as well as the standard drop in combat reps.
>Intuition
Intuition is gained from a variety of contracts and tasks. The Intuition rep gained varies from task to task. PVP contracts' intuition rep grows exponentially: they start lower than PVE, but end up higher than PVE. PVE contracts have a steadier source of intuition rep: they start higher than PVP contracts but eventually lose their profit as the difficulties go up.
>Standings
Standings are your overall reputation with separate groups or individuals. They are affected not only by your activity with the group, but also your other reps and your activities with other groups/individuals. For example, if the Boss Wizards and the Lost Legion were rival clans, completing contracts for one group may drop your standings with the other clan. Using the same example, if you accidentally screw up real bad with one of the members of the boss wizards, while that specific individual may not like you, you could still have very high standings with other members of the clan. Even if your overall standings with the entire clan are low, certain individuals may still trust you.
>>Contract Types
All contract types have one thing in relation: abandoning them will drop respective reps and your standings with the contractor. Contracts can be issued by anyone, but non-neutral parties' contracts may result in loss of standings with other groups/individuals.
>Quest
Quests are the only type of contract that involve no direct combat. Keep in mind, however, that this is not guaranteed, as some quests may ask you to obtain items, but said items may need to be acquired through combat. Quests have the widest variety out of all contract types, which also means the rewards of quests may vary. Do keep in mind that the highest bonus of a quest is what the topic was about. Even if you engaged in more combat during a quest than searching for a particular item, you will still receive a higher bonus to your Intuition rep because the topic of the quest was to search for an item.
>Bounty
Bounty contracts involve elimination of one or more targets, and completing or failing them will result in gain or loss in bounty rep, respectively. Bounties are issued by bodies with more authority; individuals often dont issue bounties because they do not have enough power. In general, bounties are issued by governing bodies, although some bounties may have been requested by others and accepted.
>Hunt
PVE contracts involving elimination of non humanoid opponents, often with lower intelligence. PVE contracts start out with higher rewards than PVP contracts but the rewards dont rise as fast as PVP contracts do. However, because monsters' levels and stats can exceed that of players, there are very rare PVE contracts that involve taking down a very powerful monster or group of monsters and have very high rewards. As mentioned before, PVE contracts only grant Hunting rep, but because Hunting and Bounty rep have equal effect in Combat rep, PVE contracts give higher bonuses to Combat rep, but only in the Hunting form. PVE contracts are almost always neutral, which means that it is very unlikely that you will lose standings with others. It should be noted, however, that the Intuition rep bonus from PVP begins to exceed that of PVE even at lower levels, and that players and NPCs have different methods of rep checking: players will review overall Combat rep, while NPCs will give you missions based on your individual Hunting and Bounty reps.
-Genocide
Genocide is a special type of hunting contract that involves killing a large number of of a certain species, such as zombies, or a certain type, such as undead. Genocide does not apply to non-biological groups; eliminating an entire clan composed of multiple different species is not a genocide but rather a hit.
>Hit
Hits are illegal bounties that can be issued by anyone. They often have much higher rewards and bonuses to intuition and bounty rep, and can even directly improve your combat rep a bit but come with 3 major drawbacks: 1. Hits are illegal; completing one will result in a slight drop in legal rep. 2. Hits come with severe penalties to all reps and to your standings with the contractor if you *attempt and fail* them; failing to complete them will drop your reps and standings, but not legal rep. 3. Most high reward hits come from powerful non neutral parties, meaning at some point you will encounter a contract that will drop your standings with another equally powerful group/individual.
>>Contract Obligations and Charges
Accepting a contract places a charge upon the contractee, and if meeting certain requirements (specified later on), they are required to take a related charge from the contractor to compensate failure to comply with the contract.
However, to avoid the prevalence of fraudulent contractors, some guidelines must be imposed to avoid unnecessary enforcement upon contractees.
These requirements are:
To accept a contract and be subject to its charges requires the possible accepting party/individual to have a full understanding of the contracts charges and contents. This means that if a contractee has not fully read a contract, they are not subject to charges placed upon them involving the contract itself. However, if they have partially read or have not read a contracts contents and proceeded to partake in an action that subjects them to the contract's charges, they are not protected by these rules and hence are subject to any and all charges placed upon them, as it is the accepting party's responsibility to read a contract's contents before accepting the charges.
>>Accountability and Compensation
>Contract Type Accountability
If a contract is a contract of servitude, or any related charges, the contractee must be aware of this prior to their acceptance of the contract. If the contractor fails to inform the contractee prior to the accepting of the contract, the contractor should inform the contractee, and if the contractee chooses, they may decline the charges placed upon them by the contract, regardless of previous charges. However, if the contractor fails to comply with this guideline, the contractee can decline the contract at no consequence at any time within the duration of the charge given by the contract, and a compensation charge will be placed upon the contractor. If the contractee has completed the contract, they may request that a compensation charge, and will receive the reward as well.
>Payment Accountability
Prior to accepting a contract, the contractee must be made aware of the form of payment, method of payment, and the payment arrival time (total time if it consists of multiple payments).
If the contractee is not aware of this, they can choose to decline the contract, or they may change the payment date to as early as the completion of their contract only if they have already partially completed the contract. If the contractor is unable to perform the payment before this due date, standard overdue fees are to be paid. To avoid this, it is highly encouraged that contractors accurately inform contractees as soon as possible.
>Overdue Fees and Payment
If the contractor fails to provide all the payment to the contractee before the due date, the total payment due to them is as follows: [the total amount of payment absent]*(100%+[the percentage of due date that is exceeded].
The total percentage of due date that is exceeded is what percentage the amount of time elapsed since the deadline is of the original due date period (from the time the contract was accepted to the time the contract either was completed or the payment was due, whichever comes first).
For example, if the contract was completed 14 days after it was accepted, and 80% of the payment was not given, and it has been 7 days since the payment due date (in this case, the completion date of the contract), then 150% of the 80% overdue is to be paid, resulting in total payment of 140% of the original agreed, 120% of which is the overdue payment and it’s incurred fee (separated into the 80% overdue payment and the 40% overdue fee), and the other 20% is the payment given on time.
Certain payment situations are exempt from this. If the contractor has met the accountability requirements (meaning the contractee is aware of the contract type and the payment data), they can edit the contract (with the consent of the contractee) to include payment liabilities.
-Overdue Fee Exceptions
If a payment method takes time to transfer the payment, the contractor and contractee can agree upon exceptions to the overdue payment fee. For example, if a payment method takes a large amount of time, it can be written in the contract that as long as the payment is deposited into the agreed location within a certain amount of time, the paying party is exempt from overdue charges. Or, if the exchange involves depositing items in both parties’ designated locations or exchanging with a proxy, it can be agreed upon that as long as either exchange is made within a certain time of the other, overdue fees do not need to be paid.
If the contract has no fee exemptions, then it is as follows: both can parties agree that no overdue fees are needed as long as the payments are made within a certain time of another. However, if one party does not deliver their required payment, then the other party is not required to make the exchange/deposit until the party that has not deposited their items does so, and if they have already made the deposit, they can withdraw the full payment at no cost to them. Late fees will be incurred in this situation.
