The people have spoken! I put a vote on the wiki home page, and apparently, y'all want a Potions System! So, I'll start working on this - it should be done relatively soon! My ideas are pretty much entirely based around the brewing apparatus shown in AO1 (pictured on the right).
My ideas:
First up, some recipes:
Blazing Block: 9x Blaze Powder
Inferno Block: 9x Blazing Block
(I think we already know what the basic brewing stand apparatus does, so I'll skip the brewing stand for now.)
Elementifier: "Charges" the brewing stand, allowing for higher level potions. Basically, for higher level basic pots and Elixirs, you put blaze powder and ice (or their compressed versions) into the fire and ice slots.
Level I-II pots: Not needed
Level III-IV pots: Blaze Powder and Ice
Level V-VI pots: Blazing Blocks and Packed Ice
Level VII-VIII pots: Inferno Blocks and Blue Ice
Diffusion Helix: Allows you to "un-brew" potions into their base ingredients. (Honestly, I couldn't think of any other use for this part, and I figured un-brewing potions would be useful. I'm open to ideas if anyone has a better idea for this part.)
Vacuum Matrix: Used for Elixirs, which require more than one ingredient. (I need ideas for Elixirs, so, please, give me ideas.)
So, basically, to make high-level/high duration versions of vanilla potions, you need to charge the Elementifier to the necessary level (see the Elementifier section), and then add lots of redstone/glowstone.
